Natalie James has worked as a Speech Pathologist for approaching 25 years with extensive experience working with adults with communication and swallowing problems in acute care, rehabilitation and community settings. She has experience working in metropolitan, regional and rural areas in Australia and working in the United Kingdom and Singapore. Her particular area of interest is neuro-protective rehabilitation and management for progressive diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Spino-cerebellar ataxias. In addition, she has experience working in stroke and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. Natalie joins us from one of the Specialist Multidisciplinary Motor Neurone Disease and Communication and Assistive Technology Clinics in Sydney. In addition to her extensive clinical experience Natalie brings an impressive research background including international presentations and publications on adult speech patterns, swallowing management in stroke and Motor Neurone Disease, telehealth care and health care decision making. Natalie is passionate about delivering excellence in all aspects of her clinical practice. She believes wholeheartedly in working in partnership with her clients and their families to realise their own best health care and life outcomes.
